Renewal of Baptism Vows
The faithful who, at the end of a mission or retreat, or at any season of the year, devoutly assist at the pious ceremony held in parochial and other churches with the permission of the Ordinary in accordance with the rules and formulas laid down by him, in which the promises made in the reception of Baptism are solemnly renewed, may gain:
A plenary indulgence, if, in addition, they make their confession, receive Holy Communion and pray for the intentions of the Sovereign Pontiff (S.C. Ind., Feb. 27, 1907; S. P. Ap., June 21,1927). Racc. 627.
NOTE: The following formula is proposed as an example:
I renounce Satan and all his pomps and all his works, and I promise to cling to Christ with all faithfulness.
NOTA: Ad exemplum, sequens proponitur formula:
AbrenÚntio Sátanæ et Ómnibus pompis eius et Ómnibus opéribus eius, et promítto me Christo fidéliter adhæsÚrum.
