  • One of his best retreats, preached before a live audience in a church toward the end of Archbishop Sheen's active life. The church was filled with people of all ages: young children, teenagers, and their parents. In this moving presentation, the Archbishop speaks about topics that apply to everyone: Mass, Confession, Youth & Sex, the Devil, Making the Right Choice, Suffering, True Love, and many more. Listen to the Archbishop as he treats, in his usual thorough, articulate and humorous manner, each of these topics, and more! Providently, these 12 conferences were recorded and preserved - and it is now the only retreat of the late Archbishop available in color on DVD.

  • By Fulton J. Sheen, 1948.

The author in this book shows that the Revolution of Communism are on the conscience of the Western world. This book has shocking statements made 67 years ago that have been fulfilled. "The Western world generally has lost the concept of man as a creature made to the image and likeness of God, and reduced him... to a component part of the universe... This distortion of the true nature of man was due principally to the philosophy of historical liberalism, which saw man as endowed with no higher destiny than the economic. There is no word more "dangerous" than liberalism, because to oppose it is a new "unforgivable sin." The book finishes with some upbeat Chapters to include: Our Lady of Fatima and Russia, How to Meet Communism and others. 247 pages.
Here are quotes from the book:
"As Western civilization looses its Christianity it loses its superiority." Preface.
"It is a characteristic of any decaying civilization that the great masses of the people are unconscious of the tragedy. . .Only those who live by faith know what is happening in the world... the great masses without faith are unconscious of the destructive process going on, because they have lost the vision of the heights from which they fallen." p.15
On speaking of antichrist:”The Antichrist will not be so called; otherwise he would have no followers...he will come disguised as the Great Humanitarian; he will talk peace, prosperity and plenty not as means to lead us to God, but as ends in themselves...He will tempt Christian(s) with the same three temptations with which he tempted Christ... He will have one great secret which he will tell to no one: he will not believe in God. Because his religion will be brotherhood without the fatherhood of God, he will deceive even the elect. He will set up a counterchurch ... It will have all the notes and characteristics of the Church, but in reverse and emptied of its divine content. It will be a mystical body of Antichrist that will in all externals resemble the mystical body of Christ. p. 17ff
"Thus does a society which lost its faith in the authority of a Church sneak authority back into society through the door of the counterchurch... Once inner faith is lost, a dictatorship becomes imperative to reestablish some kind of order by force." p. 172

  • By Msgr. Fulton Sheen.

    Impr. 1941.

Monsignor Sheen starts by speaking of “The Spirit of Revolution” and its 3 characteristics and they are: irrational, violent, and atheistic. He next talks about war as a punishment. He says, “We will not start with the assumption that we are innocent and therefore assert that all our misfortune is undeserved,” and that thought eventually leads to a brilliant chapter: War As a Judgement of God and the many evils of our country are compared to those of others, foreign or domestic. And what would he say after over 50 million abortions in our country alone which started 32 years after publication of this book? Perhaps the most important chapter is : A Declaration of Dependence in which he states: “The Declaration of Independence is a Declaration of Dependence. We are independent of dictators because we are dependent on God.” Later in the same chapter he adds we are also dependent on the law, and explains what is happening in our society today. He says, “Freedom is a moral power; not a physical power; not the right to do what you please, but the right to do whatever you ought. But ought implies law, and law implies order, and order implies justice and justice implies God. This book will explain the seriousness of the violence now plaguing many U.S. cities (and also world-wide) and what may occur next.

    140 pp.

This wonderful book by Fulton Sheen is a logical sequel to Communism and the Conscience of the West.

  • On Good Friday, 1979, a television crew visited St. Agnes Church in New York to tape a news piece. They were so enthralled by the speaker, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen, they taped his entire talk. This long lost tape has now been found and digitally re-mastered. It is titled "His Last Words." Bishop Sheen died later that year.

This is the Bishop at his best: in a pulpit, not a TV studio. It is a new Sheen experience seen here for the first time. The BishopÂ’s wit and wisdom transcend the years. His words remain a masterpiece of sacred prose and poetry.

"It is not a unity of religion we seek but a union of religious people. We may not be able to meet in the same pew, but we can meet together on our knees as Christians."

Rev. Billy Graham said of Sheen, "I greatly admired his ministry and his focus on Christ." Dr. Robert Schuller of the Crystal Cathedral wrote, "He was the first teacher from whom we all learned."

Actor Martin Sheen chose his name from Bishop Sheen. The Holy Father used his tapes to practice English. The Bishop wrote 95 books and countless newspaper and magazine articles. He was an Emmy winner for his television program, "Life is Worth Living."

For todayÂ’s troubled church, Bishop Sheen is a friend many are seeking to help guide their spiritual journey. With him, we see each sunrise as GodÂ’s radiant promise that life is worth living. "God love you."

Nineteen addresses delivered in the nationwide Catholic Hour. This series of talks is a call to America to return to God; not by lip-worship, but by prayer, penance, reparation, by re-kindling in our consciences the Justice of God, and by emblazoning before our eyes the Christ of Judgement in order that all of us, Jews, Protestants, and Catholics may, by a re-birth of the moral law, save America and salvage the world.
